Mobetta Loretta: Music
Hey Main Street
(Mobetta Loretta)
2009-10-01
Music by Loretta Chacon with Sean Johnson; Lyrics by Loretta Chacon
"Hey Main Street," is written from the company's perspective, or protagonist character of the theme album, "Salt of the Earth." It serves to lend a twist to the story, largely based on human and civil rights. Capitalism often is the antithesis of the human struggle and detracts from spiritual and moral growth.
As any good manager would tell you, 'It's the bottom line that counts.' This leads us to ask ourselves the philosophical question, "What is it that truly measures success?"
Well I may look big & bad,
But I’m just an inflated number.
I can puff out my chest, pull in my gut.
But all I got underneath is flab, flab, flab.
Refrain
Look at you, may not look big.
But when you’re in numbers,
Then, you got a powerful filibuster!
Your union is strong, Mister!
Hey, hey, hey!
Chorus
Hey main street!
I’m wall street!
Chorus repeat
All I got is my ledger lines.
You just let your passion fly.
Industry booms. And your spirit soars.
The bull’s got me by the horns.
Refrain
Chorus repeat
Can’t live with ‘em.
Can’t live without ‘em.
